Your adventure begins as you arrive at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our friendly guide who will assist with your transfer to your hotel in Entebbe. After checking in, you can relax and unwind from your journey. If time permits, explore the charming town of Entebbe, visit the Botanical Gardens, or take a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria.
After an early breakfast, we set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in the western region of Uganda. The drive takes you through picturesque landscapes, including the lush tea plantations and the equator line. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive in the park, where you will have the opportunity to see elephants, lions, buffaloes, and a variety of antelope species. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Start your day with a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, a prime area for spotting predators and large mammals. Your guide will help you track lions, leopards, and other wildlife as you explore the park’s diverse ecosystems. After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and some relaxation.
In the afternoon, head to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. The channel is known for its high concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles, as well as a wide variety of bird species. The boat cruise offers a unique perspective of the park’s wildlife, with animals coming to the water’s edge to drink and cool off. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Today, we journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The drive takes you through the scenic Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Keep your eyes peeled for these unique predators as you pass through.
Upon arrival in Bwindi, check into your lodge and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure. The lodges in Bwindi offer a range of options, from luxury to budget, all providing a comfortable base for your stay. Enjoy a hearty dinner and rest well for the exciting day ahead.
The highlight of your safari awaits – gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers. You will be assigned to a gorilla family and given guidelines on how to conduct yourself during the trek.
Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, you will hike through the dense forest in search of the gorillas. The trek can be challenging, but the reward is immense. Spending an hour with these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is an experience that will stay with you forever. After the trek, return to the lodge to relax and share your experiences. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
After breakfast, we cross the border into Rwanda and make our way to Kigali, the vibrant capital city. The drive offers stunning views of the Rwandan countryside, with its rolling hills and lush landscapes. Upon arrival in Kigali, check into your hotel and have lunch.
In the afternoon, embark on a city tour of Kigali. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda’s tragic past and its remarkable journey of reconciliation and recovery. Explore local markets, art galleries, and cultural centres to get a feel for the city’s vibrant culture. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
On your final day, we head to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey trekking. After breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing. Golden monkeys are an endangered species and are known for their playful nature and striking golden fur. Trekking to see these primates is a delightful experience, offering great opportunities for photography.
After the trek, return to the hotel for lunch and freshen up. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some time for last-minute shopping or relaxation. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your incredible 7-day Uganda and Rwanda safari.
