In the afternoon, you will embark on a boat cruise along the Nile River. This leisurely cruise offers excellent opportunities for birdwatching and game viewing along the riverbanks. You will get close to hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds. The highlight of the cruise is reaching the base of Murchison Falls, where you can witness the sheer power of the cascading water.

Kibale National Park is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, making it one of the best places in the world for chimpanzee tracking.

The tracking experience can last anywhere from 2 to 5 hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzees. As you trek through the dense forest, you’ll also have the opportunity to spot other primate species such as the red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus, and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. The park is also a haven for birdwatchers, with over 375 bird species recorded.

Once you find the chimpanzees, you will spend an hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watching these intelligent creatures interact, groom each other, and play is a truly mesmerizing experience. After the tracking, you will return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you can opt for a guided nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, located near Kibale National Park. This community-based project is an excellent opportunity to see more primates, birds, and butterflies while supporting local conservation efforts.
